We understand that there is a growing concern around the impact of COVID-19 and that you may be receiving an increased number of questions from student and parents.
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) is working with the Ministry of Health and other government agencies to manage the COVID-19 outbreak. These restrictions will be reviewed in 14 days.
Please find below the latest updates from the universities of some of the European destinations with respect to COVID-19.

2 | Vancouver Community College | May-20 | Face-to-face learning is suspended, however VCC will be offering alternative modes of learning, and instructors will be reaching out to current VCC students directly to provide options. Please note that the college office remains open, a continues to support prospective and current international students via phone, email, online/web meetings and drop-in advising. Please encourage students who are already in Canada and have a valid students permit to apply to Spring/Summer 2020. Accepted students who anticipated to begin in Spring/Summer 2020 will likely defer or cancel, therefore program seats have now opened up. Available programs include: Cosmetology Diploma, Post-Degre Diplomas (Business Management Diploma, Canadian Business Management), and other diploma programs. Please expect more seats to open up as we receive more deferral and cancellation requests due to the travel ban. 3 | The University of Winnipeg | May-20 | The University of Winnipeg is looking at offering courses online for the Spring term, but this option is still in the planning stages. More information on online options is coming soon. Deferrals Students can also defer their studies – for those that were planning to start in 2020 (Spring term), they can move their start date to Sep. 2020 (Fall te Many students scheduled to start in May 2020 will have a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) that is also valid for a September 2020 start. If so, they may start their studies then without a new LOA. Any student whose LOA is not valid for September can request a new one for that term. Refunds For students who choose to withdraw from outside Canada, we will be waiving administrative fees against deposits/pre-payments and will not be requesting documentation regarding study permits. 10 | Coquitlam College | May-20 | All new international students currently outside of Canada (regardless of which country you are travelling from) are required to arrive before April 10, which is days before the start of Summer semester; this is to account for the mandatory 14-day self isolation period. If the student is unable to arrive in Canada by April 10, they must defer their start date to Fall 2020 semester. In addition, we also strongly recommend that students obtain additional medical insurance for this time period, so they can be covered for additional medical issues such as COVID-19 while they are staying in Canada. 19 | Canadore College | May-20 | North Bay campuses will be suspended and students who have applied to that term will be deferred into the September 2020 or subsequent intake as requested. The Spring intake for the Canadore@Toronto campuses will proceed as planned or might have a delayed start date. That will be determined over the coming weeks. |

21 | Northern College @ Pures | May-20 | For the students whose VISA application has not been submitted or if the visa application is still in process, students will need to defer to September 2020 immediately without any further delay. For the students who have already received the visa copy but have decided travel in May 2020 regardless if there is travel restriction or have symptoms cannot travel at this time. They will be granted deferment at this time. An extended start date for May 2020 has been proposed at this time – Wednesday, May 20, 2020. However, please note, the extended date may change according to the travel restriction advisory from the Government of Canada. Please also bear in mind the 14 days self-isolate period required before the students report to campus. |
